trosman

text by Rubén Troilo

There is something profoundly timeless in Jessica's work. It’s unclear to me if her experience in the fashion industry really preceded her sculptures, or if it’s the other way around and the sculptures are actually a previous step that switched places, or rather, switched the moment in time. Maybe Jessica came up with all of this before, but she decided to show it just now, a while after coming up with it. Anyway, these are our estimates, and not hers. She has everything much more figured out and, at the same time, much less figured out than those of us who observe her.

Trosman was a hypothetical fashion idea. Ideas like that one come from other earlier ideas, and they have the glamor of being in transit: the motion of what is and what could be. Is this a sweater? Could it be a sweater? It’s the exercise of a post-shirt and pre-pants taking place at the largest store in Patio Bullrich.

Stuff like that happens, or is about to happen, whenever Jessica is around.
